NYC is an unbelievable city. On every corner one can pictures. That’s why I started with the icons – as everyone does. But I’m just not the street photographer. I enjoy doing what many photographers have done before me and to try to just do it a little bit different – and hopefully with good light.
On my last visit to NYC I went out very early to catch the full moon setting over lower Manhattan. It was freezing cold. By the time the moon was in the right position there were only a small group of photographers left. Nobody seemed to have been interested in the moon. So I walked up to the group and stopped in my tracks when I recognized my biggest photography idol Elia Locardi with his wife and the Lee and Patrick fro f-stoppers. So I walk up to them and tell them that I have a great admirer of Elia and the Photographing the World Series. I shook hands with them and exchanged a few words before I let them get back to work. For this was the highlight of the day!
Buy the way Elia: I’m desperately waiting for Photographing the World 4!
