Let me admit it – I’m a Lightroom lover. I currently work with Lightroom 5.0 for most of my basic post processing. Below you see a sample of the before and after post processing. I certainly like the creative power Lightroom puts at your fingertips.

My friends at www.rhyfallclassic.ch recently had their spring event with an outing and a photo shoot. Based on my first vintage car shooting with them I was asked to come and do the photo shooting at this event. My daughter who is a gifted youg photographer joined in and together we had a great time with these wonderful vintage cars!
How did we go about it
Basically we built on the experiance of the first shooting and added some great knowledge from the folks over at www.kelbytraining.com . Check out the courses by Tim Wallace – they are awesome! If you follow his great tips you are certain to get some nice shots. We realize we are still working on beginners level and with sub-par lighting equipment, but our friends and we are so happy with the results – and that isall that counts for us and for our friends at www.rhyfallclassics.com.
At this point we like to thank Scott Kelby and his team as well as Tim Wallace for the wealth of great information provided at a more than fair price. We are delighted!
Challenges
The challenges this time were: location and time! The location was a quite narrow passage in an industrial building where the cars could drive in on one side and drive out on the other. So there was no possibility to work with any decent background nor was there any good daylight available. Postprocessing (mainly in Lightroom 4.3) was the answer. What a wonderful program! All we had in terms of time was a mere 2 hours for ten cars. It was the first beautiful spring day of the year and our friends wanted to go for a ride – shooting to them was a nice thing on the side 😉

Muhhh
I just started to work close to Berne, Switzerland. The countryside around Berne is beautiful.
Balckwater River or with its correct Swiss name “Schwarzwasser” has cast a beautiful gorge into the land. In places one finds beautiful glacial garvings in the rock bed of the river.

I guess every photographer comes to the point where he wants to photograph fireworks. It’s actually quite fun. We have two large fireworks every year in the area where I live. Here is a take of each one of them.

I was born and raised just about 5km away from the “Rheinfall”. For many years I regarded the falls simply as a photographic object for tourist and postcards. I never really took the time to try to find a unique way to capture it until this year. Attached are just a few of the pictures that try to portrait this beautiful waterfall in a way that suits my style.

Santiago Calatrava is a Spanish architect born in Valencia in 1951. So far I only had the opportunity to see his work in Valencia and in Zurich. I certainly plan to visit more of his breathtaking archtectural masterpieces.

A wedding shoot is a big challenge for a photographer. You only have one go at it – the expectations are quite high.
I had the oppotunity for a first wedding shot when my god daughter got married. She and her husband did not want to spend a fortune on a photographer but nevertheless wanted some nice memories of their big day. Without any pressure from their side I could prepare and try to make something out of this interesting challenge.
I started practicing with couple shoots. Then I added some of the best tutorials on wedding photography from some of the world best wedding photographers. And then I just went for it.
I enjoyed the day. You can judge the outcome!
